Assam University & Borjalenga Unit of ABVP observes ‘Social Equality Day’

Dec. 6: On the 65^th death anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, ‘Samajik Samta Divas’ (Social Equality Day) was observed by the Assam University Unit & Borjalenga Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Sunday. To commemorate the day, ABVP offered floral tribute at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar in the University campus.

Prof. Harsha Srinivas, Faculty member of Assam University, who was present during the occasion, said that, it is important to always remember the great thinkers like Baba Saheb and to put his ideals into practice in one’s life. Moreover, the Karyakartas also said that the purpose of the celebration of ‘Social Equality Day’ in all over India on this day is to forget the differences between the high and the low and maintain equality among all. ABPP University Unit and Barjalenga Unit Karyakarts were present on the occasion. Finally, the occasion came to an end with the ‘Shanti Mantra’ wishing world peace.
