26 tests +ve in Cachar on Saturday, district tally rises to 10,350

Active cases 169 in Cachar

Oct. 31: On Saturday, a total of 26 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1339 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 21 persons were found positive, whereas 05 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, DSO, IDSP, Cachar on Saturday night. With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,350. Further, a total of 10,144 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 39 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 169 active cases in the district.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Tuesday said that in the last 24 hours, 220 persons were screened at SMCH. Throat swab of another 468 persons were collected. 617 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 06 of them tested positive. Further, 401 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 02 were found positive.

Apart from this, 03 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 03 were discharged. At present, there are 44 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 18 are admitted in ICU and none are in ventilation. Further, 257 persons have donated plasma which was administered upon 466 patients.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
