Assam registers 10 more deaths due to COVID-19 on Monday, toll rises to 826

Oct. 12: On Monday, another 10 persons in Assam lost their lives due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state has now reached 826. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad and anguished to inform that 10 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The 10 deceased were identified as:

• Debajani Rajkhowa (70) of Tinsukia
• Renu Das (75) of Dibrugarh
• Unanda Medak (51) of Lakhimpur
• Nibaran Kachari (63) of Goalpara
• Ramesh Sharma (65) of Golaghat
• Hem Baruah (62) of Jorhat
• Roushonara Begum (40) of South Salmara
• Anita Kalita (65), Wazidur Rahman (85) & TH Tampakleima (50) of Kamrup Metro
