PM Modi to hold review meeting with CMs of 7 states worst hit by COVID-19

Sept. 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to chair a high-level virtual meeting on 23 September with Chief Ministers & Health Ministers of seven States/UT with the highest disease burden and deaths. He will review the COVID response and management facilities made available in these 7 states.

Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Punjab are the 7 States/UT having a high viral case load with whom the Prime Minister will interact. They account for 63% of the total Covid-19 cases in the country.

India, the second worst coronavirus hit country in the world after the United States, has more than 55 lakh cases, according to the Union Health Ministry data. With 75,809 new cases in the past 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 tally jumped to 55,62,663. The Centre has been holding periodic review meetings with states and even rushing teams of experts to the viral outbreak-hit states.
