1 dies at SMCH on Sunday

Sept. 20: Sunday registered one more death at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Divulging this information, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH said that the deceased is not from Barak Valley but from Tripura. The deceased was identified as Basirul Bibi (38), a resident of Kailasahar in Tripura. She was admitted on 8 September in the medicine ward of SMCH due to certain ailments.

Meanwhile, she had to undergo Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) in which she was detected as COVID-19 positive. Following this, the lady was shifted to the COVID Ward of SMCH. However, Basirul Bibi ultimately died in the morning on 20 September. Her details were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board for confirmation. The Audit Board certified her death to be non-Covid as she died due to comorbidities.
