Numbers come down, only 1380 tests +ve in Assam on Thursday

Sept. 17: On Thursday, the number of novel coronavirus cases came down considerably in Assam. Only 1380 positive cases were registered during the day. Due to Vishwakarma Puja, the number of tests were less in number in the state. With this, a total of 1,50,349 persons tested positive in Assam as of now. At present, there are 30,454 active cases in the state. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 1380 #COVID cases detected today out of 20557 tests. Due to #VishwakarmaPuja today, less number of tests were conducted. Positivity Rate- 6.71% Kamrup M- 376; Jorhat- 123.”

Further, during the day 17 more persons died in Assam due to COVID-19, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 528.
