1856 tests +ve in Assam on Friday, tally rises to 87,908

August 21: On Friday, 1856 persons tested COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of novel coronavirus cases went upto 87,908, out of which, 24558 are active. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 1856 #COVID cases detected today out of 36180 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 5.12% Kamrup (M)- 433, Dibrugarh- 150, Cachar- 143, Kamrup R- 121.”

Further, 6 deaths were registered in Assam on Friday. With this, the death tally of the state has now gone upto 227.
