2174 patients discharged in Assam on Thursday
August 13: On Thursday, 2174 patients were discharged from various hospitals and COVID Care Centres in Assam. With this, a total of 49,383 patients were cured and subsequently discharged in the state. Further, 2796 persons tested COVID-19 positive in Assam on Thursday. This took the state tally of coronavirus patients to 71,795. At present, there are 22,240 active cases in Assam. Cachar district registered 307 positive cases during the day. Further, 8 more deaths were also registered in the state during the day., thereby taking the death tally to 169.
In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “2174 patients discharged today. Where there is a will, there is a way! My gratitude to our medical teams for their efforts. We shall win.”
