‘Quit India’ day observed by Leo club of Karimganj Youth

August 8: The Quit India Movement was launched at the Bombay session of the All-India Congress Committee by Mahatma Gandhi on 8 August 1942, during World War II, demanding an end to British Rule of India. The ‘Quit
India’ movement, more than anything, united the Indians against the imperialistic British rule.

To commemorate the event, Leo club of Karimganj Youth (Youth wing of Lions Club of Karimganj) celebrated this glorious day by garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. The members of Leo Club offered deep tribute to the brave-hearts who laid down their lives for the freedom of the nation.

The day was observed at Station Road near Ganga Bhandar, Karimganj by maintaining all the rules and regulations and Covid protocol. Leo members present were Srinath Banik (Immediate Past President), Bithika
Choudhury (Secretary), Anirban Ghosh (Project Chairman), Sohan Biswas (ZC IV) and Biswarup Deb (2nd VP).
