19 new COVID-19 positive cases detected in Hailakandi; total tally 861

July 28: 19 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Tuesday, taking the total tally to 861. Health authorities here disclosed that of the 19 positive cases on Tuesday, seven have been detected under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

Two employees of State Bank of India and Allahabad Bank, Hailakandi branch, tested positive while a police personnel of Police Reserve was found positive. Altogether 95 cases have been found positive under RAT so far.
30 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals on Tuesday, taking the total number of persons released to 717. The number of active cases in the district is presently 141.

Two COVID-19 positive patients viz., Mangoli Rani Das, 53, and Foijul Haque Barbhuiya, 65, breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 37 persons are currently under facility quarantine centres while 6,332 under home quarantine. Of the 14,538 swab samples taken, 12,127 turned out to be negative. Swab results of 670 persons are awaited.
