I have keen eyes on COVID situation in Silchar, Jorhat, Barpeta & Golaghat: Himanta

July 11: “I have been tracking the COVID-19 situation, especially of 4 districts. These are Silchar, Jorhat, Barpeta & Golaghat. In these places, the number of COVID-19 cases are increasing.” This was stated by State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sharma during a press briefing at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati on Saturday. He, however, said that though the numbers were rising, yet the environment in those 4 places is still not that of declaring any lockdown. Other methods of evading lockdown and containing the further rise in positive cases are explored in Silchar, Jorhat, Barpeta & Golaghat. So that means, as of now, there is no probability of any lockdown in Silchar.
