Meritorious students who passed HSLC to get ₹ 20,000 instead of Laptops: Himanta

June 7: Assam Government since the last many years had started a tradition of providing computer/laptop to those meritorious students who secured distinction star marks and above in High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) under the Anundoram Borooah Award scheme. However, this year, due to prevailing pandemic situation, the state government has made a shift in their policy. Those students who have secured star marks and above in HSLC Exam 2020, High Madrassa and FM Examinations conducted by SEBA would be given Rs.20,000 in lieu of computers. The students can purchase computer of their choice of this money. This was stated by State Education Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma in a press meet held in Guwahati on Sunday.

A portal in this connection with soon be released by SEBA where such students who have secured star marks and above can log in and submit their bank like account number, IFSC code etc within the month of August. As soon as the process is complete, the state government would debit the amount in the bank account provided by the students.
