Professor of Assam Agricultural University commits suicide

May 12: A Professor of Assam Agricultural University in Jorhat committed suicide by hanging himself in his office room on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Abhijit Sharma, a professor of the Agronomy department of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. As per reports, a suicide note was recovered from the pocket of the deceased. However, police has not yet divulged the contents of the letter. Police is investigating into the incident.
