Obeying govt order Daffodils School gives public notice about 50% fees waiver

April 24: Complying with the orders issued by Government of Assam, Daffodils School has come up with a public notification informing the parents whose wards are studying in the school from Nursery to Class X will now have to pay only 50 percent of school tuition fees exclusively for the month of April 2020. Further, the notification also stated that parents who have already deposited the full school fees for the month of April 2020 will be adjusted from the monthly school fees of the next month. This was informed by Subrata Dey, principal of Daffodils School, Silchar.

A copy of the notification was also sent to the Branch Manager of UBI, Itkhola Branch where the schools fees is paid. Parents and concerned citizens have applauded the transparency maintained by Daffodils School in circulating public notification in this regard. Some concerned citizens have said that while many branded private schools have taken no attempt in publicizing the government order, Daffodils School of Silchar has successfully done so.

All private schools in Assam shall have to take only 50 percent of fees for the month of April. This applies for all classes till Class XII. Further, no private schools can enhance any fees till the coronavirus pandemic prevails without the prior approval of the state government. If, any private school has already collected the full fees for the month of April, than it should be adjusted in the next month. This was stated by State Education Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing in Guwahati on 22 April, 2020.
