State govt to give full salary to all its employees: Himanta

April 22: We are going to give full salary to our state government employees, said Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Finance Minister, during a press briefing on Wednesday. Speaking about the 50 percent rebate to be given by private schools in the fees of the students for the month of April, 2020, the minister said that, “we cannot be too harsh towards the private schools as this would have an adverse effect on the teachers and staff of those schools.”

The minister, however, said that the private schools cannot enhance the school fees as long as the coronavirus pandemic prevails. The schools were also asked not to cut the salary of any teacher or staff. It is in this context that the minister said that even the state government is going to pay the full salary to all its employees.
