No hanging of Nirbhaya convicts on 1 Feb as Delhi court postpones execution

January 31: Convicts Pawan Gupta, Mukesh Singh, Akshay Singh and Vinay Sharma who were supposed to be hanged on 1 February in connection with the Nirbhaya incident will now not be hanged until further court orders. On Friday, the four Nirbhaya case convicts extracted another last-minute reprieve as a Delhi court deferred their execution indefinitely. As of now, the death warrant has been cancelled and no new date has been given.
