SMILE brings smile in thousand faces by voluntary donation of 1445 units of blood in 2019

January 10: The most precious gift that one can give to another person is the gift of life i.e. blood. It is the essence of life. Blood is needed regularly for patients with diseases such as thalassemia and hemophilia, and also for the treatment of injuries after an accident, major surgeries, anemia, etc. Blood saves more than one life when it is separated into its components (red blood cells, plasma etc.).

Donating blood voluntarily is perhaps one of the greatest services towards mankind. One such organisation devoted to voluntary blood donation is SMILE. True to its name, with a smile in their face, the members of SMILE is dedicated round the clock in organising blood voluntarily. They are also into the task of making people aware about the benefits of blood donation and dispelling myths from the mind of the people.

In the year 2019, SMILE donated a total of 1445 units of blood to the needy patients. Among them, 144 units of Negative blood was donated. 89 units of blood were donated by lady donors. SMILE expressed its heartfelt thanks to the donors who have come forward to join this noble cause of voluntary blood donation. SMILE also expressed the hope that in the future too, with the generous help of the voluntary donors, the mission of blood donation will continue unabated.
