YASE meets DC Cachar, submits memorandum on prevailing ‘Syndicate Raj’ in Cachar

January 09: A delegation of Youths Against Social Evils (YASE) met Deputy Commissioner Barnali Sarma on Thursday and submitted a memorandum wherein they highlighted the prevailing ‘Syndicate Raj’ in Cachar and sought her positive intervention. YASE also accorded Barnali Sarma, a hearty welcome to Cachar as the Deputy Commissioner.

In their memorandum, YASE highlighted the illegal transportation of coal, Burmese nuts, urea etc. through Digorkhal and Lailapur areas geographically located in the borders of Meghalaya and Mizoram respectively. They also informed that her predecessor Laya Madduri had formed a ‘Task Force’ to deal with the ‘Syndicate Raj’, which clearly indicates the seriousness of the issue.

YASE also assured to monitor the matter and help the administration in all possible ways. They appealed to direct the existing ‘Task Force’ to be more active in this regard. The delegation demanded that the appeal made by YASE should be communicated to the Chief Minister of Assam for conducting a ‘High Level Enquiry’ into the matter.

While interacting with way2barak, YASE Central Committee President, Sanjeev Roy said, “If the ‘Syndicate Raj’ prevalent in the district is not stopped immediately, then YASE will launch a vigorous agitation against such illegal system.”

Others who were present during the submission of the memorandum were Sri Samsul Islam (President, YASE Katigora Assembly committee), Krishna Kangsabanik (President,YASE Silchar Assembly Committee), Bandita Trivedi Roy (Vice president YASE Central Committee), Satyam Nunia (Treasurer, Central Commitee), Sandip Shil (AGS, YASE Central Committee), Dinesh Kahar, Rukon Uddin Talukdar, Ashim Roy, Sahabuddin Ahmed and Nanda Roy.
