Rangirkhari police nabs criminal who escaped from their clutches in 2018

November 29: In a significant move, acting on a secret information, Rangirkhari police achieved success in nabbing an under-trial prisoner who escaped from the clutches of the police. As per reports, on 15 December, 2018, an undertrial prisoner Mayajul Islam Laskar was granted police remand. However, on the way to the police station, he pounced upon them and escaped. Since then, he was at large for almost a year.

However, on Wednesday night, being tipped off by sources, police force from Rangirkhari out post led by its in-charge Paul Lalringsang successfully nabbed the escaped culprit from a village in the Sonabarighat area. As per the police sources, hardcore criminal Mayajul along with his two brothers were arrested along with a stolen car. On Thursday, Rangirkhari police produced Mayajul in the court.
