BSF recovers 11,600 Yaba tablets, 2 arrested & handed over to Badarpur police

October 22: Based on secret report, Border Security Force (BSF), Karimganj sleuths laid a trap and apprehended two persons, a male and a female. Each of them had a bag in their hands. On searching, the BSF found 11,600 contraband Yaba Tablets from their possession. That was enough for the sleuths to nab them.

Both the persons were then handed over by the BSF to Badarpur Police Station. The two arrested were identified as Nita Chettri of Karbi Anglong and Kamal Uddin of Karimganj. Police are interrogating both of them to find out the details.

Prima facie investigation reveals that they were on an assignment and were entrusted to hand over the consignment to some other peddlers in this chain. However, more details will come out only after thorough investigation by the police.
