Seemantha Chetana Mancha celebrates I-day & Raksha Bandan at 131 Battalion BSF, Dholchera

August 15: Seemantha Chetana Mancha Purvottar (Silchar Nagar Samiti) celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandan at 131 Battalion Border Security Force, Dholchera, Cachar. Commanding Officer, 131 Battalion inaugurated the program by lightening the lamp. Hundreds of soldiers participated and celebrated the occasion.

The celebration programme was organised by Seemantha Chetana Mancha Purvottar (Silchar Nagar Samiti) President Debotosh Chakraborty, District Secretary Ratnadip Paul, Nagar Samiti Secretary Gourbijoy Goswami, Organising Secretary Biswadip Chakraborty. Other members of the Nagar Samiti were also present during the occasion.

The occasion was a unique one as civilians and border security personnel celebrated the day standing on the same platform. The lady members of Seemantha Chetana Mancha tied rakhi to all the soldiers and in return also received gifts from them. It needs mention here that Seemantha Chetana Mancha celebrates Raksha Bandan with security forces every year.

The programme came to an end with a dance programme jointly by the members of the Chetana Mancha and the forces. The Commanding Officer of 131 battalion, Dholchera thanked the Chetana Mancha for undertaking such a unique endeavour.

Speaking to way2barak, Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty, President of Seemantha Chetana Mancha Purvottar (Silchar Nagar Samiti) said, “It’s indeed a proud moment for us to stand beside our forces on this auspicious day. We are indeed grateful to our forces for protecting our frontiers 24×7. I salute our forces for their devotion and dedication.”
