General Manager, NF Railway (Construction), Inspects Progress of Dimapur–Kohima New Line Project 

way2barak, 29th September: Shri Ashish Bansal, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction), undertook an inspection of the Dimapur–Kohima New Line Project in Nagaland on 26th & 27th September, 2026, to review the progress of ongoing railway construction works in the region.

The Dimapur – Kohima New Line Project, spanning a length of 78.42 km, is an important railway infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing rail connectivity in Nagaland. Out of the total project length, 31.339 km of construction has been completed. The project involves the construction of 30 major bridges, of which 13 have been completed, and 150 minor bridges, of which 138 have been completed. The project also includes 31 Road Under Bridges (RUBs) and 5 Road Over Bridges (ROBs), with construction works in progress. The new line will comprise eight stations, namely Dhansiri, Dhansiripar, Molvom, Pherima, Pipihema, Menguzuma, Zubza and Kohima.

During the inspection, Shri Bansal inspected important bridges, tunnels and ongoing construction works of railway stations, besides reviewing the progress of various components of the Dimapur – Kohima New Line Project. The inspection focused on assessing the progress of critical infrastructure works and ensuring adherence to construction standards, quality and safety requirements.

Shri Bansal also undertook a window trailing inspection of the Dimapur – Guwahati section and reviewed the progress of the Lumding – Furkating Double Line Project on 28th September, 2026.

The visit formed part of the ongoing efforts of Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction) to monitor the progress of major railway infrastructure projects and facilitate their timely completion, with a focus on enhancing railway connectivity and supporting the socio-economic development of the region.
