Cachar all set for ceremonial launch of Aadhaar based payment for Orunodoi beneficiaries

way2barak, July 29: Cachar district administration has completed all necessary arrangements for the ceremonial launch of Aadhaar-based payment under the Orunodoi scheme, which will be held on August 1, 2026, at 12 noon through a live telecast of the programme to be addressed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam.
The district-wide event will be organised simultaneously at designated venues across Cachar to enable Orunodoi beneficiaries to witness the live programme in their respective localities. The arrangements cover Badarpur Municipal Board, Banskandi Development Block, Binnakandi Development Block, Borjalenga Development Block, Borkhola Development Block, Dholai Development Block, Kalain Development Block, Katigorah Development Block, Lakhipur Development Block, Lakhipur Municipal Board, Palonghat Development Block, Rajabazar Development Block, Rongpur Development Block, Silchar Development Block, Silchar Municipal Board, Sonai Development Block, Sonai Municipal Board, Tapang Development Block and Udharbond Development Block with programmes scheduled at municipal wards, gaon panchayat offices, community halls, market sheds, marriage halls, schools, temples and other notified public venues across the district.
Meanwhile, Cachar District administration has selected the officials who are designated as nodal officers for every venue while elected representatives and other public dignitaries have been assigned as chief guests to oversee the smooth conduct of the programme. Necessary arrangements for seating, public address systems, display screens and beneficiary facilitation have already been put in place.
It is worth mentioning that the Aadhaar based payment system is expected to make the transfer of financial assistance under the Orunodoi scheme more seamless by ensuring that benefits are credited directly to Aadhaar-authenticated bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.
The district administration has appealed to all Orunodoi beneficiaries to attend the programme at their respective designated venues well before the scheduled time to witness the Chief Minister’s address and receive first-hand information on the Aadhaar-based payment mechanism. A detailed venue-wise plan along with the names of nodal officers and chief guests has been finalised for all notified locations across the district.
