way2barak, December 16:— Cachar is set to witness a transformative leap into the future as Nandita Gorlosa, Assam’s Minister for Sports, Youth Welfare, and Minority Development, spearheaded a high-profile review meeting on Monday. Held at the new conference hall of the DC’S office, the gathering reflected the Assam Government’s unwavering focus on infrastructural upliftment and sports advancement, signaling a dynamic vision for the district’s growth.
The meeting brought critical developmental projects under the spotlight, with significant contributions from the PWD (Buildings), PWD (NH), and Sports Departments.
Among the standout initiatives discussed was the restoration of Silchar’s historic Circuit House, a heritage site that will soon undergo a comprehensive makeover. Balancing history with modernization, the project aims to preserve the landmark’s cultural legacy while integrating modern facilities.
Adding to the district’s sports infrastructure, plans for constructing a mini stadium at Dwarbond in Dholai promise to energize the local sports ecosystem. Designed to nurture emerging talent, this facility is expected to inspire a new generation of athletes. Further emphasizing sports as a cornerstone for development, Phase-I of the Cachar District Stadium’s modernization, funded under the Untied Fund for 2022-23, was also announced. This ambitious endeavor aims to raise the district’s sporting facilities to national standards, fostering an environment conducive to excellence.
Minister Gorlosa, in her remarks, emphasized the collective responsibility of stakeholders in transforming Cachar into a model of inclusive growth.
