Amrit conference at Agartala on the occasion of silver jubilee of Comp Sc dept of AUS

way2barak, November 17: The Second International Conference AMRIT-2024, held on 8th and 9th November 2024, was successfully organized by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala, in collaboration with Department of Computer Science, Assam University, Silchar. The event brought together researchers, academicians, and professionals from across the globe, fostering knowledge exchange and discussions on various topics of significance.

Prof Rajkumar Buyya, University of Melbourne, Australia and Prof Umapada Pal, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata presented insightful talks on contemporary issues, emerging trends, and innovations in their respective fields as Key Speakers. Five invited speakers were Prof Bipul Syam Purkayastha, AUS, Prof Ajoy Kumar Khan, Mizoram University, Dr Sriparna Saha , IIT Patna, Dr Noraisah Bin Tajudin, Lincoln University Malaysia, and Dr Prantosh K Paul, Raiganj University, West Bengal

Over 70 research papers were presented during the two-day conference in both physical and virtual modes. The presentations covered diverse topics, showcasing the multidisciplinary nature of the conference. A total of 280 papers were submitted for the conference and around 90 papers were accepted. The registered papers will be published in Springer CCIS book volume.

The event saw participation from around 120 attendees, including researchers, students, and industry professionals, enriching the discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions.

A magnificent cultural evening added a special charm to the conference, featuring performances of Indian classical music and traditional dance.

Violin Performances by Prof. V. Balaji (Banaras), Mrs. Kalpana Kishore (Bengaluru), with two vocal artists from Agartala Mrs. Sujata Som, and Ms. Rapti Choudhury.

A mesmerizing Hojagiri dance performance by tribal girls’ team captivated the audience, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state Tripura.

AMRIT-2024 was a grand success, providing a platform for intellectual exchange and cultural enrichment. The organizers, NIT Agartala and Assam University Silchar, received high praise for their seamless execution of the event. The conference set a benchmark for future collaborations and academic events, strengthening ties within the academic and research communities.

AMRIT Conference is a flagship conference of Department of Computer Science, Assam University, Silchar started in 2023 on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the department. After AMRIT-2023 organised by Assam University during 10-11 March at Silchar, this is the first event organised outside the state of Assam.
