Workshop on Good Governance Initiatives in Cachar District organised on Friday

way2barak, Dec.23: A workshop on Dissemination on Good Governance Initiatives in Cachar District was held at the New Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Cachar. B. C. Nath, ACS, Retd. Joint Secretary to the Govt. of Assam graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and spoke on the progress of the district as compared to the time when he served in the district. He pointed out progress in Cachar district pertaining to road developmental works, changes in revenue administration, implementation of model villages, development in education, a more vigilant administration with grassroot level good governance activities undertaken by the government.

He also identified key areas in which the district could give emphasis for better governance with a vision of the district @2047. The Education Deptt, the Health Deptt and the E- Governance Branch, DC’s Office also gave insightful presentation on the Good Governance initiatives undertaken by them.

In attendance also were the DDC, Cachar Rajib Roy , ADC, Cachar Dipak Jidung and Yubraj Borthakur. The workshop was attended by the District Heads of Offices and academicians/ think tanks from Assam University, Silchar and representative of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal Silchar Samiti as participants in the workshop, who made the event a success.

The workshop was a part of the week long celebration of Sushasan Saptah-Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur 2022 (Good Governance Week) in which all government offices are holding public grievance redressal camps since 19 December, 2022, which will continue till 24 December, 2022.
