College Principal in Assam arrested for embezzling student scholarship fund

way2barak, Dec.13: Principal of CK College in Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district of Assam was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a scholarship scam. The Principal identified as Shahidul Islam was accused of embezzling student scholarship fund under 2017-18 Ishan Uday Scheme. He is being interrogated to unearth further details.

It needs mention here that crores of rupees were embezzled in the name of Ishan Uday Scholarship, which also led to the arrest of 5 persons including a college Principal in Barpeta district of Assam. The Ishan Uday Scholarship is given to the meritorious students from minority communities.
