Silchar- Sylhet Festival 2022: CM releases theme song composed by artists of Silchar

Silchar- Sylhet Festival 2022 to take place on 2nd & 3rd December at police Parade Ground

way2barak, Nov.29: Silchar Sylhet Festival 2022 is going to take place at Police Parade Ground on 2nd & 3rd December, 2022. The Festival is jointly organised by India Foundation and Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Govt of India. This is not just a cultural event but rather around 100 dignitaries from Bangladesh will come to Silchar.

There has been a long historical relation between Sylhet and Silchar. This will be an unique opportunity for the people of this area to go back in time and immerse in nostalgia. Through this festival, Silchar and Sylhet shall get the opportunity to continue business interaction, cultural interaction and historical interaction.

Speaking about the programme during the press briefing on Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “This will be a large scale programme and India Foundation has come forward to make it a grand success. I will be in Gujarat and not able to come to Silchar for the festival, but my ministers will be here. But I believe that this is a very unique occasion and the civil society of Silchar should lend all the support.”

A theme song for the Silchar- Sylhet Festival 2022 has been composed, the audio for which was released by Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy on 17 November, 2022. However, today, the audio-visual format of the theme song was also released. Commenting on this, Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa said, “A theme song has been prepared for the entire dialogue. Jashobanta Das, Hrishikesh Chakraborty and Kamalesh Bhattacharjee has made this theme song.” The theme song was also played during the press briefing.

Later on speaking with way2barak, Jashobanta Das and Hrishikesh Bhattacharjee spoke in details about the composition of theme song for Silchar- Sylhet Festival 2022. The lyrics, composition & music direction of the theme song was done by Hrishikesh Chakraborty. Kamalesh Bhattacharjee has sang the song. The chorous was sung by two bands of Silchar- Dolchut and Folkera. The credit for choreography goes to Chandan Mazumder, while the project in-charge was Jashabanta Das.
