29 Durga idols to be immersed at Silchar on 6 October & 3 on 7 Oct: Dist Admin

way2barak, Oct.6: A total of 138 Durga Idols were scheduled to be immersed at River Barak at Sadarghat, Silchar this year. Out of the 138 idols, 106 idols were immersed on the day of Dashami on 5 October, whereas, 29 idols will be immersed on 6 October. Only 3 idols will be immersed on 7 October. This is as per the data supplied by District Administration Cachar vide DDIPRO.

However, the data provided by the District Administration is on the basis of those Puja Committees/ residences that took permission for idol immersion. However, there are many other such puja committees who have not taken permission, but would go for immersion at Sadarghat, Silchar.
