New Executive Committee of GC College Alumni Association formed for 3 years

The Alumni Association formed with Soumya Kanti Purkayastha as President & Luna Purkayastha as General Secretary

way2barak, Sept.18: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of GC College Alumni Association was held on 18 September, 2022 at the EPDP Association, Chittaranjan Park, New Delhi. As per the provision of the Bye-Laws, elections coincided with the General Body meeting. All elected members of the Executive Committee shall hold office for a maximum of 3 (three) years (2022-25) continuously, or until the Annual General Body Meeting held after being two years in office since the election of the Executive Committee.

President: Soumya Kanti Purkayastha, B.E., MBA, who studied PU (Science) at G C College during 1979-82 (currently resident of Delhi) was elected as the President of the Executive Committee of the Association.

Further, as per the Bye Law 31 and the sub-clauses included therein of the “Bye Laws, Rules and
Regulations” of the G C College Alumni Association,

a. The newly elected Executive Committee may, at their discretion co-opt another 10 (ten) eligible
members of the G C College Alumni Association to be “Co-opted Members of the Executive
Committee”.
b. Furthermore, all Presidents and Secretaries of Regional Chapters of the G C College Alumni
Association, as and when such Regional Chapters are established with permission of the President
of the Association will automatically become “ex-officio Members of the Executive Committee”.

Gurucharan College, popularly known as GC College, is a college imparting 10+2, undergraduate and certifications under the aegis of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Guwahati and Assam University, Silchar. The college was established on 15 July, 1935 and is recognised as one of the premier institutions in the field of Collegiate education.
