413 bags of rice meant for Food Security scheme seized from a shop & godown at Udharbond, 1 nabbed

way2barak, Sept.8: In a sudden drive, 413 bags of rice meant for Food Security scheme has been seized from Udharbond. This huge quantity of rice was seized during a raid conducted by the Circle Officer of Udharbond along with officials of the Supply Department on Thursday.

On the basis of secret information, Circle Officer, Rituraj Bordoloi of Udharbond conducted a sudden raid at a shop and 2 godowns of a person named Tamij Uddin Laskar at a place called Pangram and seized 413 bags of rice. As per reports, 200 bags of rice were found in the shop of the accused, whereas, the rest were seized from his godowns. The godowns were later on seized by the officer on duty.

Further, the accused, Tamij Uddin Laskar was also arrested and brought to Udharbond Police Station on charges on storing rice for sale which were originally meant for Food Security Scheme. There was information with the concerned authorities about involvement of Tamij Uddin in illegal business. Finally, on Thursday, the man was caught red-handed.
