7-day workshop organised by Bioinformatics & Computational Biology Centre of Assam University

way2barak, Sept.8: The Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Centre of Assam University, Silchar has kickstarted a workshop on “Computational Approaches to Drug Designing” on 7 September, 2022. The workshop will continue till 13 September.

In the inaugural session, Vice Chancellor of Assam University and Chairman of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Centre, Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant formally inaugurated the workshop. Organising Chairman and Director of the Center, Prof. Manabendra Dutta Choudhury delivered the  welcome address and narrated the13 years long journey of the center. Dean of Life Science Prof. Srabani Giri and Registrar i/c Dr Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Director IQAC, Prof. Piyush Pandey were the others who graced the inaugural session and delivered relevant speeches.

In the technical session, Prof. A Anand from VIT, Dr. Sudip Choudhury from AUS took theoretical classes. Practical class were taken by Mr. Debasish Panda of DBT institute at Itanagar. The workshop will continue for 7 days and external experts from Tezpur University, Pondicherry University and Dibrugarh University will also deliver lectures along with a number of inhouse experts.
