Meghalaya BJP VP accused of running brothel at his farmhouse, arrested in UP
July 26: Meghalaya BJP unit’s Vice-President Bernard Marak, who was accused of running a brothel at his farmhouse, has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh today. Marak was on the run since a raid on his property led to the apprehension of over 70 people and the rescue of five minors.
He was wanted in a Tura Women Police Station Case No.105(07)2022 u/s 3//5/6/7 of Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act,1956. Notably, the Bernard Marak was the former chairman of a disbanded militant group and had more than 25 criminal cases against him since the early 2000s.
