3 living legends of Silchar sports along with others felicitated by Silchar Veteran Cricketers Club

April 17: The 6th Annual Award function of Silchar Veteran Cricketers Club (SVCC) was held at Kalpataru Hotel, Silchar on Sunday. The ceremony was held in the memory of Late Sishutosh Basak.

More than 16 sports personalities of different events were felicitated during the day for their outstanding performances in their respective events. Apart from them, three living legends in the arena of sports were also honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards. These three legendary figures in the arena of Silchar sports are-  Badal Dey, Abhijit Endew and Sujiit Dutta Gupta. All of them are the founder members of District Sports Association (DSA), Silchar.

The Silchar Veteran Cricketers Club also felicitated Pritam Das, a Ranji Cricketer of Assam as Achievement Award. It needs mention here that cricketer Pritam Das has completed 50 Vijay Hazare BCCI First Class Matches. SVCC also handed over an amount of Rs.50,000 to Referees Training Center for the welfare of Silchar Football Referees.

Speaking during the occasion, Bijendra Prasad Singh said, “We have completed 5th year of SVCC in 2022. I offer my thanks and to everyone for your gracious help and support throughout our journey.”
