Congress candidate Ripun Bora file nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections

March 21: Congress has nominated Ripun Bora as the party’s candidate from Assam for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. Ripun Bora filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections on Monday. Elections to fill up the 13 Rajya Sabha seats across six states will be held on March 31. Ripun Bora is currently serving as the MP of Rajya Sabha. Ripun Bora was elected to the Upper House of Parliament in March 2016.

The BJP & its ally UPPL candidates for the two Rajya Sabha seats from Assam, Pabitra Gogoi Margherita and Rwngwra Narzary filed their nominations on Monday in presence of the Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Two Rajya Sabha seats in Assam will fall vacant after the term of MP Ranee Narah and Ripun Bora- both from Congress ends on April 2, 2022.
