IMD issues rainfall alert for 16 states including Assam for 4 days

Jan.10: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall alert for 16 states over the next 4 days. The states include Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. IMD further specified that cold wave conditions in isolated pockets very likely over Rajasthan from 11 to 14 January. Further, there are chances of dense fog in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh for the next four days. There would be gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C over East India during next 2 days and no significant change thereafter.
