87 out of a total of 358 Omicron patients in India were fully vaccinated

Dec. 24: On Friday, the Union Health Ministry informed that there are 358 cases of Omicron variants in the country and out of these, 114 have recovered. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said an analysis of 183 out of 358 confirmed Omicron cases were done. The study showed that out of the 183 cases studied, 121 of them had a foreign travel history. 44 cases out of the 183 Omicron cases analysed had no foreign travel history, but the majority of them were contacts of foreign travellers. The travel history of the remaining 18 cases is not known.

During the Friday briefing, the Union Health Secretary further said, “About the vaccination status, 87 patients were fully vaccinated and out of these, 3 were also inoculated with the booster dose. 7 patients were unvaccinated and 2 were partially vaccinated, while 16 were ineligible to take the jab. The vaccination status of 73 patients is unknown.”

Of the 183 cases off the variant in the country, Maharashtra is leading the tally with 88 cases, followed by Delhi with 67 and Telangana with 38.
