1 more Covid +ve patient die at SMCH in last 24 hours

Oct. 24: The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 23 October to 5 PM on 24 October) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Sunday evening. The deceased was identified as:

• Biswajit Das (62) from Barikgram in Karimganj district was admitted at SMCH on 21 October. The patient, however, breathed his last at 6.20 PM on 23 October.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 24 October, there were 16 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 04 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 03 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 02 of them were discharged.
