Assam govt issues new SOP, allows performance of mobile theatre

Oct. 9: Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta in a press conference on Friday said the state government has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for performances by mobile theatres with effect from Friday.

From Friday onwards, theatre drama exhibition of mobile theatre will reopen following the rules and instructions of Covid-19.
✅ Every member of the mobile theatre team and organizing committees must take both doses of Covid vaccine.
✅ The certificate of getting the vaccine has to be submitted to the concerned district administration.
✅ Mobile drama shows will not be allowed in containment zones or areas where there are more infected cases.
✅ Seating should be arranged by maintaining social distance in the auditorium.
✅ Hand sanitizer must be kept in stock at the entryway.
✅ It is mandatory for the audience to wear a mask. Mask must be kept in stock at the entrance of the auditorium for the audience who come without wearing a mask.
✅ The evening show of the drama must be finished before the beginning of Covid curfew.
✅ If COVID infection is widespread or the situation is better then the rules will be changed.
✅ The district/sub-divisional administration will at any time check whether the Covid rules and the standard operating procedure (SOP), applicable to mobile theatres, have been followed in the place of the theatre.
✅ RAT/RT-PCR test for Covid19 is mandatory for every member of the theatre every two weeks.
✅ In case of violation of the SOP and the rules & regulations set by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), legal action will be taken against the owner of the theatre group and the organising committee.
