293 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Sunday, 674 discharged & 4 deaths registered

Aug 29: On Saturday, out of 39,337 tests, 293 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,88,318. The positivity rate in the state is 0.74 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 74 positive cases during the day. Further, on Sunday, 04 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,640. The recovery rate is 97.84 percent.

It needs mention here that on Saturday, 586 persons tested positive in Assam and 09 deaths were registered.

On Sunday, 674 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,75,629 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam.  At present, there are 5,702 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 04 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 04 deceased, 01 each from Cachar, Hojai, Udalguri & Kamrup Metro.The death tally of the state now stands at 5,640.
