Classes going on in full swing at ‘Silchar Study Circle’ for APSC/ UPSC aspirants
Aug. 21: The ‘Silchar Study Circle’ for APSC/ UPSC aspirants, an initiative of District Administration Cachar kick-started its journey on Friday. A total of 1,327 applications were received for entrance exam to the Study Circle, out of which 711 were shortlisted based on the UG/PG qualifications. A total of 162 applicants appeared for the Entrance Exam held on 7 August, out of which 30 aspirants were selected to be a part of the Silchar Study Circle 2021.
On Friday, the inaugural session on Indian & World Geography with special reference to Assam was addressed by Abhinav Singh, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Cachar. The classes for the 30 selected aspirants are going on at Gandhi Bhawan Library, Silchar. On Saturday, Kishan Chorei Tripura, ACS Asstt Commissioner delivered his lecture on General Preparation. During the day, Prof Parthankar Choudhury, former HOD, Department of Ecology & Environmental Science of Assam University delivered his lecture on general issues on Environment Ecology with reference to Assam.
The course will continue till 5 September, 2021. At the last day, there will be an interactive session among the students followed by Mock Test. Classes will also be taken on History, Political Science, Mathematics, Geography by renowned teachers of GC College, Cachar College, Radhamadhab College and Assam University. Further, lectures will also be delivered by the administrative officials of Cachar district.
