With 6 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 29 on 12 August, 2 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 186 in Cachar; 44 discharged on Thursday

Aug 12: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at late night. As per the latest data, 06 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 29 persons were found positive in the district on 12 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 24 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 186. This was informed by District Media Expert on Thursday night. Also, 44 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 33 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

Further, during the day, 5,946 persons were administered Covid vaccine in Cachar. With this, a total of 5,62,988 persons in the district were vaccinated as of now.

As per the updated data, a total of 6,115 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 23 persons were found positive, whereas 06 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,409 whereas during this phase, 19,034 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 186 active patients:

14 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
11 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
03 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
04 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
00 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
14 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
05 Palonghat Model Hospital
40 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 11 August to 5 PM on 12 August) witnessed the death of 02 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

The deceased were identified as Bokul Kumar Deb (67) from Choto Jalenga Part-II in Cachar district and Panchali Das (95) from Motinagar in Cachar district.

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta further informed that till 5 PM of 12 August, a total of 54 active coronavirus patients are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), out of which, 24 of them are in Covid ward and 30 at ICU. Out of them 38 patients are in oxygen support and 03 are in ventilation. In last 24 hours, 03 new patients were admitted whereas, 03 of them were discharged at SMCH.
