HRD Minister assures to upgrade Diphu Campus to full fledged Central University

December 20: Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javedekar agreed in principle to upgrade Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC) to a full fledged Central University. Mr Javedekar said that a cabinet note has already been prepared in this regard. This was informed by the HRD Minister to a delegation which met him at his residence in new Delhi on Thursday.

The delegation comprised of CEM, KAAC  Tuliram Ronghang, Jagat Sing Engti, EM, Education, Professor Sivasish Biswas, Pro-Vice Chancellor, AUDC, Dr. Anup Kumar Dey, HOD, Department of English, AUDC and Longsing Teron. They met the Minister at his residence at 6 Kushak Road, New Delhi. Sri Mukul Kanitkar, National Organizing Secretary of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal also accompanied the delegation. The delegation expressed its sincere thanks to the Minister and the Central Government for taking such a historical step for the educational upliftment of this remotest part of the country and said that it is a great gift to the people of this region.
