50,000 plus tourists enter Nainital, Mussoorie in weekend; PM Modi says its cause for concern
July 13: As per the official figures, 35,425 tourists reached the outskirts of Nainital and 32,000 travelled to Mussoorie over the last weekend amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Many tourists were not allowed to enter the hill stations by the police. Police collected an amount of Rs 74,400 as fine for violation of Covid protocol.
Expressing anguish, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that gathering of huge crowds without masks in hill stations and markets is not correct. “It’s indeed a matter of concern,” said PM Modi.
