69 containers of heroin seized at Guwahati, 4 arrested

December 22: In a major breakthrough, Guwahati police recovered 69 containers of heroin along with a cash amount of Rs. 34,000. Police also arrested four drug peddlers including three women from Fatashil area of Guwahati on Saturday evening. The four arrested were held at Fatashil police station and were being interrogated for extracting further details.

The four arrested are Hafizur Rahaman, Anowera Begam both , Morjina Khatun and Ambiya Khatun. Hafizur and Anowera are from Barpeta whereas Morjina and Ambiya are from Guwahati. Police were trying to trace these drug peddlers since sometime and on Saturday sources tipped them off about them. It is only after that the police conducted a raid and nabbed them red handed.
