6 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 16 December, 1 death registered at SMCH in last 24 hours

Dec. 16: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 11.40 PM. As per the latest data, 06 persons were found positive in the district on 16 December. Also, 06 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 54. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 05 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,551 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, no person was found positive, whereas 06 were detected positive out of 54 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,510 whereas during this phase, 20,239 patients were discharged.

The last 24 hours (5 PM on 15 December to 5 PM on 16 December) witnessed demise of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. The deceased is from Cachar district. The deceased was identified as:

• Abhijit Gupta (68) from Malugram, Silchar in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 4 December. The patient, however, passed away at 7.15 PM on 15 December, 2021.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 16 December, there were 03 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, and also none of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, no Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and none of them were discharged.
