তিনি জানান, ফরিদুল রাজস্থান থেকে যে বাসে চড়ে এখানে এসেছেন, এরা ওই একই বাসের যাত্রী৷ এর ফলে রাজ্যে করোনায় মোট ৪৯জন আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন৷ একজনের মৃত্যু এবং ৩৪জন সুস্থ হয়ে ওঠেন৷ বাকি ১৪ জন বর্তমানে চিকিৎসাধীন৷
May 7: Four persons who traveled by the same bus in which the COVID-19 positive person traveled from Ajmer Sharif to Cachar tests positive. It needs mention here that the bus which came from Ajmer in Rajasthan had 42 passengers. After one man was detected to be COVID-19, all the co-passengers along with two drivers of the Bus No. RJ-27-PB-7071 were put under facility quarantine and their swab tests were done at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Out of them, 4 tested positive on 7 May. The information was shared by State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday night.
The minister wrote, “Alert ~ 4 persons, who took the same bus from Rajasthan in which the Cachar dist #COVID19 + person travelled, have tested positive too. Total #COVID19 patients in Assam now stands at 49. Active cases 14. Discharged 34. Death 1.”

This means the total number of coronavirus cases in Assam goes up to 49. Out of them, 34 were already discharged and one of them died. So at present, there are 14 active cases in Assam.
As regards the tally of Cachar, the total number of positive cases in Cachar reached 6, out of which, 1 was already discharged and at present there are 5 active cases in the district. All 5 of them returned by bus on 6 May from Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan.
