Payment proof of electricity bill not required for the month of June: Assam Govt

This will be implemented for payment of salary of July 2021 onwards

July 1: Salary and wages bill of all employees for the month of June 2021 may be processed without insisting on “No Dues Payable against Electricity Bill of APDCL” certificate from all employees prior to processing of wages/ salary. This was stated by Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, General Administration Department in a WT Message issued on 1 July, 2021.

The WT Message dated 1st July, 2021 further stated, “However, the directions issued regarding collection of “No Dues Payable against Electricity Bill of APDCL” for salary purpose will be implemented for payment of salary of July 2021 onwards.”

A letter issued by the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) recently stated that the all employees must be certified by their respective DDO’s as “No dues pending” of their current electricity bill. If the electricity bill is not paid by the state government employees, then the salary of the erring staff shall not be prepared by the DDO. As a matter of proof, the employees should submit system generated payment receipt of latest electricity bill to their DDO’s. Only on receiving the proof, the employer should issue “No dues certificate & process their salary bill. On 29 June, 2021, on the basis of the letter of APDCL, MS Manivannan, Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt of Assam directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure the same.
