23 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Tuesday
Aug 10: A total of 23 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Tuesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 6,758 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 23 persons were found positive, whereas till the filing of this reports, the results of RT-PCR test were not made available. It needs mention here that 19 persons (till 6 PM as final updated data was not provided by the health department on 9 August) were detected Covid-19 positive on Monday.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 9 August to 5 PM on 10 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 10 August, there were 59 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 37 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 22 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 03 patients were put under ventilator support and 42 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 12 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 08 of them were discharged.
