1st patent granted to Triguna Sen School of Technology, Assam University, Silchar

Dec. 28: It’s indeed a matter of immense pride that 4 persons by dint of their research work has earned laurels for Assam University, Silchar. Dr. Sudipto Sarkar (Supervisor), Dr. Sanjib Kr Paul (Ph.D Scholar and presently working as Scientist, CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad), Prof. L. N. Sethi (Co-supervisor, Head and Dean) and Dr. S. K. Ghosh (Co-supervisor) have been granted first ever patent (Patent No: 385092) for an invention entitled: “COPPER (NANOSIZED) -CHITOSAN- MENTHOL EDIBLE CONGLOMERATE ENROBE FOR PROLONGED SHELF-LIFE OF CLIMACTERIC FRUIT” on 24 December, 2021 by Indian Patent Office, Govt of India.

All the team members have been working from the inception of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Assam University, Silchar for bringing such pioneering success for the Triguna Sen School of Technology and Assam University at large. They are also looking forward for potential licensees to get the patent licensed for scale-up and commercialisation of this novel technology.
